Did you have to uninstall the new version to reinstall the old one, or is there a command line switch to override the version check? Yes, trying to reinstall the old version over the top wasn't possible - it came up with a dialog box saying it couldn't continue the install. I uninstalled via ...

I'm finding this as well (only tested in 8.15). Reverting to 8.14.2 works as expected.

Aha, thanks - I hadn't realised the syntax definition files would also work from the Users directory as well!

Minor problem when upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit TextPad

I have created my own syntax definition files with different names to those normally supplied (mainly so that they don't accidentally get overwritten). When upgrading from 32-bit TextPad to the 64-bit version on Windows 7 (and, I presume, on Vista and 8.x as well) these definition files don't get ...

Yes, and please extend that to the number of "In folder" strings in the Find in Files dialog box as well.

You can retain indenting in phpBB by using [ code][/code] tags. But well done tracking down the bug for Helios! Thanks for that info! Additional information: yesterday I reported these problems via the official TextPad bug reporting and Helios replied this morning with "Thanks for reporting this ...

You're right; this seems to be a bug in version 6. Unless it's a "feature". I hope it's a bug and not a feature! The problem also happens for the "In files" and "In folder" drop-down fields with the Ctrl-F5 "Find In Files" option. This one is extremely annoying as I like to permanently set this to ...

Re: Crash while saving

I am also experiencing (almost) the same problem. The only difference is that the "new" file is always zero length. I have sent Helios 3 copies of the Report.wer file (from the last 3 crashes). My current PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an i5 CPU with 12GB RAM - I was previously using ...

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I never use the document selector (yeah, I know it's only an F11 press away). I'm one of those people that hate to see the screen cluttered with lists and other stuff that I find of minimal use - which is why I prefer to program using a text editor and not an IDE ...

An annoying problem when closing several files quickly

Hi all I think this is a new problem on 5.2 (I certainly don't remember it happening prior to my 5.2 installation and I've been using TextPad since version 3.x). It's not a high proprity problem for me, just an annoyance really. The problem: I have multiple files open and I want to close down some ...
