Did you have to uninstall the new version to reinstall the old one, or is there a command line switch to override the version check? Yes, trying to reinstall the old version over the top wasn't possible - it came up with a dialog box saying it couldn't continue the install. I uninstalled via Window...

Minor problem when upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit TextPad
I have created my own syntax definition files with different names to those normally supplied (mainly so that they don't accidentally get overwritten). When upgrading from 32-bit TextPad to the 64-bit version on Windows 7 (and, I presume, on Vista and 8.x as well) these definition files don't get co...

Re: Crash while saving
I am also experiencing (almost) the same problem. The only difference is that the "new" file is always zero length. I have sent Helios 3 copies of the Report.wer file (from the last 3 crashes). My current PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an i5 CPU with 12GB RAM - I was previo...

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I never use the document selector (yeah, I know it's only an F11 press away). I'm one of those people that hate to see the screen cluttered with lists and other stuff that I find of minimal use - which is why I prefer to program using a text editor and not an IDE....

An annoying problem when closing several files quickly
Hi all I think this is a new problem on 5.2 (I certainly don't remember it happening prior to my 5.2 installation and I've been using TextPad since version 3.x). It's not a high proprity problem for me, just an annoyance really. The problem: I have multiple files open and I want to close down some b...
