Thanks. I had assumed it had to be a setting. That worked.

Re the preview, it most certainly did, 3 times before I gave up reposting and trying to preview it, and simply submitted it.

Although interestingly it seems to have been fixed now as it worked that time.

Tab Selector

Recently performed the usual MS update, and when I went back to Textpad noticed the appearance had changed. It may be unconnected to the MS update but it was the only thing I recall doing between seeing it as usual and noticing the appearance change. Most of the stuff I'm not so bothered with but I ...

Ah ha ! That seems to have done the trick, thanks. Yes if one tries to edit the tws file in Notpad, as I expected, it messes up it up. Probably can not cope with the non-text stuff. But using a hex editor to edit the file on the disk directly, works 'a treat'. Thanks again. (PS upgrades need a works...

Thanks talleyrnd: Mmmmm it may well be a workspace problem. Opening the tws file in notpad and doing a search reveals the string "C:\Program Files\TextPad 4\System\TEXT.SYN" in a number of places. May not be the cause, but I guess it is worth an edit to check. -----------------------------...

I liked the auto hide for the document selector, and explorer might come in useful sometime (but I know it doesn;t show all directories/files). But apart from that, I turned anything else new, off. I'd rather have upgrades for better search facilities, than "fun" bells & whistles.

Text.Syn

Hopefully a quick and easily answered question. Since upgrading to version 5.2 I now get a certain error message for some files when I load in the workspace. It claims it can not find c:\Program Files\Textpad 4\System\Text.syn. My reaction is along the lines of, well of course not, you are version 5...

Dcitionary Problem - Infinite Loop

I'm hoping that this is a known problem but I've come across the following today and would appreciate help fixing it. Thanks. I performed a spell check on a file, and it reaches a point where the spell check never ends. I have to exit Textpad from the Task Manager. Now I may be misunderstanding this...

OK... closing and opening workspaces seems to have cleared the problem, although I'm unsure how. I'm rather concerned about the size of the latest tws file though. I suspect it may have been involved in the problem. And concerned that it increased when I closed files. How do I minimise that file siz...

Text Selection

Having a problem using the mouse to select text, and was wondering if anyone had come across it before and knew why it occurs. Suddenly during this morning, the mouse will only select part of the text I drag it across, it suddenly stops highlighting, I've closed and re-opened Textpad, still occurs. ...

OK this has become of academic interest only.
With generous pasting of "#include " and lots of right clicking, I seem (hope) to be back where I was previously.
Not an elegant solution though :)

File List Within Text File

If one has a list of files in a .txt file, is there any way one can instruct TextPad to open them all ?

(Once again a workspace file was claimed to have an unexpected error, and I had to open the file and edit out all but the file list to recreate my previous situation :()

Can not understand why all commands are not available as possible toolbar buttons. Unless I am missing where they are, I can not find the 'block select' on or off buttons.

Why can't all commands be locatable on the toolbar ?
