Find in Files provides two options under Report Detail: (1) All matching lines; (2) File counts only. Whichever option is selected, a summary line is provided: Found P occurrence(s) in Q file(s)
I just discovered that the occurrence count under Option 1 is incorrect when a matching line contains multiple instances of the search string.
A recent search resulted in the following summary lines:
(Option 1) Found 16 occurrence(s) in 5 file(s)
(Option 2) Found 18 occurrence(s) in 5 file(s)
The 18 count is correct. The 16 count overlooks one match on each of two lines.
