Odd Textpad error
About 10% of the time, when I close out of Textpad 4.3.2, I get the following error message: "Textpad caused an error in TEXTPAD.EXE." All I do is click ok on the error message, and everything seems to be okay. What in the world is causing this error? Here's some basic stuff about my system:
Win Me
Pentium II, 450mhz
256 MB Memory
6597 MB Free Disk Space
1024 x 768 Resolution, High Color (16 bit)

RE: Odd Textpad error
I'm seeing something similar. TextPad 4.3.2 frequently crashes when closing TextPad after having printed, or sometimes when the print dialog is displayed. If I don't print, I don't crash.

RE: Odd Textpad error
Hi,
I have this error a lot on Windows ME (not just with TextPad). Fortunately, I finally decided to take the plunge and Win2k the box, and it works perfectly now. I don't think ME is everything it's said to be.
...just my opinion before I get into an ME vs anything else war

Unfortunately, in Windows ME, you no longer get a detailed error message, but I will do what I can.

RE: Odd Textpad error
We have found a bug which may be related to this message thread. To reproduce it, use the File/Page Setup command to change a printer property, such as the page orientation, and then print a document. This causes TextPad to crash.
It occurs at 0045f182 on Windows 98 and ME, but not NT or 2000. The diagnostics for ME are written to a file called FaultLog.txt, in the Windows folder.
This problem will be fixed in a maintenance release, which is due out in the next few days.

RE: Odd Textpad error
Interesting note.... to see error message details in WinMe, I think all that you must do is press Alt-D -- even though there is no Details button I've heard that it works.

RE: Odd Textpad error
Charles,
This is the same bug. It will definitely be fixed in the next maintenance release, which is nearly complete.
