File tabs

Post by VSLEWIS »

Sorry for this question, but I could not find a previous answer, although I think some already asked it.

How do turn of the "file tabs" on ver 8.1.2?

(It's most supposely called "document" because not every tab necessarily is a file, it could also contain yet not saved content or search results.)

DOCUMENT Tabs

Post by VSLEWIS »

No matter what setting if choose in "VIEW Doc Tabs" there is always a "Document Tab" and I cant work in a MDI environment.

I upgraded from ver 4.2 to 8.1, and I need to be able to work on multiple documents simultaneously.

Hence, I need to turn off the document tabs.

Is there a bug in ver 8.1.2?

This is mutually exclusive - either you want MDI or not; either use multiple TextPad instances or not.

Not sure if you grasp all the settings of 8.1.2 so have a read on:

My apologies: I just looked at the 'Preferences' and never looked at the "Menu",
hence the confusion. Al is good now!
