I've found TextPad (6.2.2) to operate extremely slowly even with small .txt files. Traced the issue to McAfee's 'real-time' scanning. When turned off TP works just fine. Unfortunately, McAfee will not allow items in the Program folders to be added to its exclusion list. I may need to switch to a different Anti-virus.
Anyone find a work around for this?

Re: McAfee incompatibility
I run McAfee and TextPad at work. I do not see this issue. Maybe it's an issue that's version-specific (mine McAfee is 4.6.0.3122).Huxley wrote:I've found TextPad (6.2.2) to operate extremely slowly even with small .txt files. Thanks for your reply ... my McAfee AV is version 15 ... and Security Center 11, but yours probably a version of McAfee for the enterprise.Drxenos wrote:I run McAfee and TextPad at work. I do not see this issue. Maybe it's an issue that's version-specific (mine McAfee is 4.6.0.3122).
Anyway ... uninstalled McAfee Security Center and installed MSFT Sec Essentials. Not my preferred AV/Malware tool but free and gets very good reviews. TextPad working well!
