have the same problem and was trying to download 5.4.1 but the link above doesn't work. will it be posted to the list of general downloads soon?
EDIT: ok... i tried the link again and now it works. i guess that's good enough for now. thanks for the fix, btw.

found the fix..
OK, I found the fix. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I went to look for HKLM\...\ddeexec and HKCU\...\ddeexec but I didnt find them. However, I DID find an entry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\TextPad.exe\shell\open\command And it was still pointing to Texpad 4...

5.02 file association still not working
Same problem in 5.02 as I had in 5.0 -- Explorer does not allow me to select Textpad as the application to use when I open a *.txt file. I can browse for the app... but it refuses to work. I thought the release notes said it was fixed, but it's not. I also tried removing and reinstalling from scratc...
