Re: v9 Usually doesn't reload modified file after running external tool

I confirmed that the create time of the file doesn't change when the formatter runs, only the modification time changes. In doing some more testing, I did find that if I save the file first, wait a few seconds, then run the formatter, it will reload every time. The formatter does open its own window...

v9 Usually doesn't reload modified file after running external tool

I'm running version 9.3.1, but I believe this has been happening with earlier 9.x versions also. I have a code formatter set up as an external tool which will rewrite the current file when it is called. Usually when this is run, TextPad doesn't reload the file automatically. In prior versions of Tex...

9.1.0 Some user entries on Tools menu are disabled

TextPad 9.1.0 (64 bit version): I recently went through the tools I had defined in Configure/Preferences.../Tools and deleted some that were no longer needed. After that, some of the user tools that display after the standard items on the Tools menu display as inactive, and I'm not sure why. I tried...

TextPad 9.0.1 Docked Search Results window display problem

When the search Results window opens in a docked state, the main window is not resized. This can result in double clicking on a line in the search results window, but then not being able to see the highlighted line because it is behind the search results window. When this happens (it seems to happen...

Version 9 - New files open in window covering part of body

TestPad is set to open all files in a single window (the Allow multiple instances to run option is not checked). If there is already a file open in TextPad, double clicking on another file registered to open in TextPad results in the file opening in a child window over the body region of the main Te...

Allow multiple instances and the context menu

In my TextPad preferences "Allow multiple instances to run" is unchecked. The other day, I noticed that I had two instances of TextPad running. After this happened a few times, I realized why: It looks like starting with TextPad 7.5.0, the context menu now has two options for TextPad: Open...

ASCII 127s do not display if they follow Zero character

This occurs when using TextPad version 5.1.0, opening a text file with the file format set to Auto and the encoding set to Default: When viewing a text file containing ASCII 127s, any 127 character following an ASCII 0 (char code 48, not NULL code 0) is not displayed. Actually, any number of 127s wi...

Access denied error when trying to save

An access denied error is generated if another program has a file being edited open preventing textpad from saving changes. The problem is the error message lists the temp file textpad is using rather than the file being edited. The message displayed is: Access to [path to file being edited]\[random...

In the past I have tried to search for just 00 using the hex search. This results in TextPad hanging and having to be killed. It seems like TextPad converts the hex codes to a string and then calls the regular search routine. There should probably be a different search routine for hex, since when se...
