TP5 Bug + solution: "Unexpected and unrecoverable error

I was getting this every other time I ran an external tool. Then I got it when installing a new licence key, but this time an extra error box stating it couldn't open C:\Program Files\TextPad 4\System\Text.syn. Yes, it was looking for the syntax file in the version 4 folder. I can't find any ...

Icons on Tools toolbar

When the Tools toolbar is selected to be displayed, the icons on the butons are just hammers numbered 1 to 16. That's not very useful, could we have the ablity to select .ico files for each of these?

cheers,
paul

I managed to fix it by going into the Windows registry and exporting Textpad's Preferences and Tools folders, then exporting it into the new PC. It could be something to do with the POSIX / SED settings and what it was when I typed in the regex. Now it's working I can't face trying things out to see ...

"Cannot jump to item under cursor"

I've set up Lint to generate an output of the form shown below. This allows me to jump to the line and column that the error is on, using the regular expression ^\([A-Za-z0-9:\\\._]+\) \([0-9]+\) \([0-9]+\) I have set up two tools, one which runs Lint on the current file, and one that runs it on all ...

Don't worry about it - it was a Windows XP "feature". I just ran another app that I wrote myself, and that had blank windows as well! I restarted the C and everything seems to be OK now.
Weird????

Search results page is blank

I have just installed Textpad on my new PC. When I do a Find In Files, the search page opens, and Textpad tells me it has found 31 occurences, but the search results page is completely blank (all white). The mouse cursor is an arrow pointing north-east instead of northwest. If I do a rightclick and ...

"Please also check that you have not accidentally created a copy of textpad.exe on your desktop, rather than a shortcut link. "

I'm having a problem with "Error 3" as well. I'm running on Win XP, and have just installed TP from the web download zip file. I'm logged on as an administrator. PLUMB.EXE is in the Textpad 4/System folder (and I also tried putting it in the windows System32 folder) but still I get the error. I ...

I have experienced an oddity with this functionality in Textpad. I developed an RE for decoding PC-Lint error lines of the default form (Lint actually allows the error line format to be programmable): D:\Projects\Troya\Software\Src\Opto.c 73 Error 10: Expecting identifier using: ^\([A-Za-z0-9 ...
