Need to Insert Spaces in Text Document
I am new to TextPad. I work alot with Text Documents and need to know how I can insert spaces to occur in between the same characters on each line within my whole entire document. I use the delimited function alot in Excel is there an easy way to do this in TextPad that is similiar to formatting it in Excel? Any advice and/or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Yes you can insert a text or spaces as you want.
In fact there are a few ways - I describe the manual way, but I am sure someone can tell you how to do it using a "regular expression".
Open your document and select "Block mode" - can do the by double clicking the greyed out "Block" on the status line at the bottom of the screen.
Go to the very first line (shft + CTRL + HOME) and move the cursor to the character/column before which you want to insert spaces.
Highlight the character (sft + RIGHT ARROW)
Then press shft + CRTL + END
That should highlight the column from the top of the file to the character on the very last line.
Go to the Edit menu and select "Fill Block...."
complete the dialogue box and you should have the desired result.
