setting line length

I am working on an assignment for a class and need to set the line length to 80 characters. I can't figure out how to do this in textpad to avoid ending up with long lines of text. How can I set the margins?

From the Main Menu:

Configure/Preferences/Document classes/Default

Put a check mark in the box to Break at column number, and enter 80 into the field.

Also make sure you have Word Wrap on. Put a check mark in the field to Word wrap long lines.
