New Instances of Texpad

When I open a new text file, it opens in the same instance of Textpad, even though I have ticked the option in Preferences to Allow Multiple Instances to Run. Help!

Please try unchecking the option to Allow Multiple Instances to Run, click Apply and then retick the option and click Apply/OK.
