file not closed until textpad is exited

Post by manishtomar »

Dear All,

I am sorry if this information has been posted earlier. I searched but couldn't find any match. Actually, i've noticed that when I close a file in textpad, textpad actually doesnt close it as I am not able to delete or move the file in explorer. Windows gives "sharing violation" message. This doesn't happen all the time but has happened quite a few times.

Regards,
Manish

I too from time-to-time have experienced this problem. The files are usually on a Windows or Unix server as I recall.

TextPad needs to keep a handle on files, in order for the feature "Working folder follows active document", to work correctly. The work around is to open a document from another directory, and then you will be able to rename or delete the previous file or directory, without exiting from TextPad.

I hope this helps.
