Hello,
I have read many solutions here and tried everything, but my compiling error seems a little bit different from the ones most people had.
When I try to compile the class file, an error message pops up and says
"TextPad has encountered a problem and needs to close."
and when I choose not to send the error report, TextPad just closes.
I can compile the file and run it when I use the command prompt, so I have no idea why I can't compile it on TextPad.
Please help me if anyone has an idea.
Thanks.
Compiling error occurs. please help me out

I recommend that you completely remove TextPad 4 from your computer, and then reinstall it.
First of all, I suggest that you manually delete any of the file associations you may have made in TextPad, under Configure/Preferences/Associated Files. This will have the effect of retaining the default settings for file extensions in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, when you follow the instructions below. You will lose your personal configurations, so these will need to be re-done. If you are a registered user you will also need to to reinstall your license.
Next: Exit from TextPad, and completely remove TextPad 4 from your computer.
You will need to implement the following procedure.
From the Start menu choose:
1. Control panel
2. Add or Remove Programs
3. Select TextPad
4. Click on Remove
Next:
From the Start menu choose
1. Run
2. Type "REGEDIT.EXE" and click OK
3. From the Registry editor Edit menu select "Find"
4. Type "textpad" in the "Find what" section
4. Check the options "Keys, Values and Data"
5. Click "Find Next" and Delete, until all references have been deleted
Download and install a fresh copy from our web site.

I hope this helps.

Encountered a problem and needs to close
I love using textpad. I have just moved to working on a new computer, and on compiling (that is all I have tried to do so far) I get this same message as above. "Textpad has encountered a problem and needs to close".
I have followed your instructions above very carefully (twice) including uninstalling and deleting etc, but to no avail. This is the contents of the technical information error report. (oops, how do I get this information in a form I can get to you. I choose "send error report" but don't know where to find it.
Using Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Thanks,
Jodie
