Best reinstall TP. If you need to save some of TP's settings see the HOW-TO forum. HTH
Then I open up and see
the person fumbling here is me
a different way to be

Try this post, http://www.textpad.info/forum/viewtopic ... e+required
If that does not help I would uninstall both Java and TP, and make sure to reinstall Java first. HTH

Pure guesswork for me since I nuke my winstall on a regular basis. Did you originally uninstall Java before upgrading it? Some registry garbage perhaps. I frequently run tools like "RegSeeker" and "RegCleaner" along with the usual virus/spyware cleaners. You could look for other reg entries containing the string "1.3" and so on but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort since you're in the clear now.
