TP won't display my applets!

Hello,

I installed Textpad and the Java SDK on my machine several months ago, and used it happily at the time. I recently went back to one of my old applets which had previously worked. It compiled fine, but when I Ran it the applet loads as a blank white screen with "Applet Started" in the bottom left corner. When i go to the applet menu and click restart, the applet restarts but doesnt display text boxes! (my applet has one text box and one button - it only displays the button) The same thing happens if i run the html file directly in internet explorer.
