syntax for a given directory?

Post by markuswells »

I have been a registered user and advocate of Textpad for several years and I have found several usefull addons and syntax on the website.

Most recently I set my system up to open textpad instead of notepad. I love that but I was wondering if it is possable to set a syntax up for any file from a given directory.

For example I view source on a web page and it may not have a .html extension but it will come from a temp dir.

any suggestions?

After opening from View Source into TextPad, just save as tempname.htm and then the syntax file for htm should help out.
Hope this was helpful.............good luck,

I like to take this further by going into Configure->Preferences->Document Classes->Text. There I add to the Files in class Text the endings *. and * (notice the star, it's just that and nothing more, that way I'm getting the html file that end like foo-bar[1]). I also use the html.syn for the document class text, seems to be harmless. You can off course add these file endings to the HTML class. HTH
Then I open up and see
the person fumbling here is me
a different way to be

Thanks ALL

I added the syntax to the text class and all is good in the world.
