Again, the problem was popped up when TextPad was uninstalled and re-installed. I already changed the association of all "txt" files with TextPad.
That was done. Whenever I click txt files, it opened TexPad instead of notepad. That is a good part.
But, the icon for txt files remained the same as notepad (when I looked at under Windows Explorer). How can I change the icon for text files from Notepad into TextPad. James

explorer /view /folder options /file types/
Scroll to find the .txt extension or text document (should be intuitive)
Double cllick the entry /
You/ll see the change Icon button.
Browse to find the TP folder and select the exe.
TIP: (this one is gravy)
Windouze hides all its power icons in shell32.dll (usually hidden)
Turn on show all files from /view /folder options
Browse to find shell32.dll in windouze folder (system) when changing icons in file types.
