TextPad and XP Pro

TextPad is crashing on application launch. I'm running XP pro. Any suggestions?

I had to do was log into XP as administrator and install the program from there making it available to all users.

But logging into XP Pro as administrator is takes some work.

Control Panel -> User Accounts
"Change the way users log on or off"

UnCheck the "Use the Welcome Screen" in order to use the classic logon prompt so that you can log-on as administrator.

Then install TextPad, making it available to all users.

You don't need to log on as Administrator. Just right click on the installer and select "Run as".
