Hi,
I've used textpad for quite some time now and I've found it quite versatile in the number of features it has. However, there is a feature that I've found quite useful, being a programmer that likes to keep multiple files open at once: window transparency.
I first found this feature in Metapad (http://welcome.to/metapad) which is a notepad replacement app. It allows you (in Win2k and up) to set a window's transparency so you can see the other windows/documents behind it. I've found this quite useful when screen realestate is limited and multiple documents are needed.
To any developer out there in the ether, is there any way of adding this to the next version release of the program? That would definitely be a winning point for me.

If using Win2K, you can already have inactive dialogs in Textpad transparent.
Configure/Preferences, select view in tree on the left, check "Transparent dialog boxes (on Windows 2000)"

Re: Transparency support in next version?
Thank for the reply...but I knew about the transparent dialog boxes before. Those are a great help especially when doing a search over a verbose document.
However, I was talking about the entire window being transparent, not just the dialog boxes.
This is useful if you are referencing a document underneath the current textpad window.

You might want to try a program called TrayThis! - among its features is the ability to make any window transparent on Windows 2000/XP systems.
