Associated Files problem

Can't find anyone else talking about this... any ideas?

I am running the new 4.5 on Windows 95 (yeah, I know... upgrade..)

Went to Preferences to add .bas as a Visual Basic file to the Associated Files. I can "Add" it to the list, but then upon either "Apply" or "OK" TextPad hangs. Eventually task manager figures out it isn't responding and I have to kill the task.

I can associate other file types just fine.

There is no other association with .bas files now, as when I attpemt to open from Windows Explorer, it asks me what to open with. I'd prefer to associate within TextPad.

Anybody know what might be going on? I sort of figure that no matter what, TextPad shouldn't be hanging...
