IE5.5 View Source Registry Key

I have tried to get IE5.5 to use TextPad when View Source is selected, however it behaves strangely. The key noted in the Configuration FAQ page of this site did not exist for IE5.5. So, I added it. Now, when I click on View Source from the context menu, Windows asks me if I would like it to add three files to the Desktop and the proceeds to open TextPad with a blank document loaded. I have used this Registry entry with IE4.1 and it worked fine. Is there any way to get this to work in 5.5 without replacing notepad.exe?

I had this same problem. Try going into TextPad preferences and under General uncheck:

Allow multiple files on the command line

That solved it for me. The problem arises when your IE cache is located in a directory with spaces in the path (which it is by default). TextPad thinks each segment of the path is a separate file.
