I installed TextPad, but in Explorer when I right click a file the TextPad option is not there?

Go to Configure/Preferences, select General in the tree at the left side, then
in the "Put shortcuts to Textpad on" box, check "Context menu"

Elias, keep the discussion here so other people can help or profit from the info given here.

Elias mail to me contained:
The Context Menu is grayed out!

<<...OLE_Obj...>>

Elias

I could not see the OLE_Obj, whatever it was.

Maybe it has to do something with "Restricted User Capabilities".
Go to
Help/Help Topics/Content/Howto/Restrict User Capabilities/Restricting User Capabilities
and check whether some of Textpad features are disabled and if so, enable them.

Andreas,

There are no restriction in place. If you have any other ideas I would much appreciate.

Thanks

The only thing I can imagine is that this might be a restriction of an unregistered version (though I think there are no restrictions in unregistered versions - there is only that popup when saving files).

If your still stuck and need a manual solution, find the "SendTo" folder under
Documents and Settings > (userid) > SendTo

This folder may be hidden from your view in Windows Explorer, so you may have to change some view options in order to make it visible.

When you find it, navigate to your Programs folder and right-click drag the Textpad shortcut and drop it into your SendTo folder. By right-clicking dragging, you can opt to copy the shortcut rather than move it.

The Send To options in your Explorer context menu will now let you choose TextPad.

HTH,

Roy
