How to add command that inserts date to the clip library

Hi,

I am building a clip library. I wish to add a command which inserts Short date. (system date).

Technically, I am trying to add a command to .tcl file, so that when we click it inserts date. Textpad helps shows use EditShortDate command. I was not able to understand it.

Please can any one help me, how to insert a command to the clip library which on click inserts the system date.

The clip library can only contain text, not commands.
