Hi,
I'm now using TextPad4 where I work now. At the previous
job, UltraEdit-32(UE) was used. UE had FTP open and
FTP save as. Looking at the add-on script, I'm not to
thrilled with the FTP support, or lack thereof. Is there an
alternative to the existing FTP 'add-on'?
Thanks in advance,
tm

Re: FTP functionality
I agree. TextPad should be able to do FTP transfers, and maybe also, as I have seen in some Macintosh editor that I can't remember the name of, users should be allowed to load a file directly from a FTP connection, modify it, and then resave it on the remote machine.
Another feature related to this, would be CVS. I think TextPad would gain a lot from implementing CVS commands too. (This wouldn't even have to implement any FTP frocedures, since CVS handles the transfer itself. Or am I mistaken here?).

Re: FTP functionality
There exist a couple of programes, that integrate them self with Windows, and make it posible to use any FTP connection as a normal disk drive.
I can't remember their names, but it should be posible to find them at www.download.com .
FTP, HTTP and other protocoles, should be a part of the operating system - we shouldn't have to think of this, but as long as Microsoft don't implement this into Windows, we have to use seperate programes.
