TextPad is not letting go of *something* when it closes a file:
After I close all documents, but actually leave TextPad open, an attempt to rename the directory holding those files causes the following error:
Cannot rename <directory name>: There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use.
When I restore TextPad (from minimize), there are still no files open in it. After I close TextPad, renaming the directory does not cause the error.
TextPad must be holding a file open even after I asked it to close the file. Only a full exit from TextPad unlocks the file and/or its directory.
This behavior has existed, I think, since v4.0.
Is this a bug?
Thanks,
Roy

RE: File Folder Locking?
It is not a file textpad keeps locked.
But it keeps the directory locked in some way. This is because it still has the directory of the last file as its working directory.
I can't remember whether this only happens if you have the working directory following the current file or whether it happens always.
And I do not remember whether there was any remedy for it.
