Getting license approval for small teams
Hello, I’ve been using the TextPad trial at my new desk for a few weeks and finally tried to get the company to spring for a multi-user license. I honestly expected a quick "yes" since the cost is so reasonable compared to our heavy IDEs, but I’ve hit a weird wall with our finance department’s new procurement software. It seems their system isn't set up for "indie" licenses under a certain dollar amount, and they keep trying to push me toward a subscription-based editor we don't even need. I’ve tried explaining the efficiency gains for our log analysis, but I'm struggling to navigate the corporate red tape for such a specific, one-time purchase. Has anyone else dealt with a stubborn finance office that makes it harder to buy "cheap" software than expensive stuff? I’d love to hear how you guys phrased your requests to get these smaller tool expenses cleared.
