How to make selected text keep its syntax colors

Post by kaneisace »

Hello all. I have a minor issue with colors of selected text.

I like how selected text has a different background color depending on whether TextPad is the focused/active window.

However, when I select text, it becomes only 2-color. I want text (foreground) to retain the syntax colors.

Current = Bad:

Can I configure TP so it keeps foreground text colors?

You can't. That's why you have a "selected text" setting - it's not for fun with extended settings being hidden elsewhere.

The only editor I know which maintains syntax highlighting when selecting text is Notepad++ - not even Eclipse has this feature, not to speak of other editors. From which software are you used to have this?
