I have a strange problem. I don't normally use multiple instances, but I was the other day. I have a tool set up to open diffs in Beyond Compare.
I found that when I tried to launch the tool from the 2nd instance. I got a message from Windows saying it wasn't allowed (access denied).
Launching the tool from the 1st instance still worked fine, however.
Thanks,
DrX
Weird issue with multiple instances

- Make sure no instances run.
- Start one instance.
- Start another instance using the same way.
- Now try to repeat what you experienced.
Hmm, you might be on to something. I started both from the start menu shortcut, and it works fine.AmigoJack wrote:Most likely your two instances were running in different contextes for whichever reason (starting one instance thru a 32bit process, the other thru a 64bit process). Without having your both instances still running and analyzing them with third party tools it could be anything.
