Is it possible to install two different versions of Textpad on the same Windows XP PC without one interfering with the other? Specifically, I am currently running TP 5.4.2 and would like to consider updating to TP 7.x, but I would like to try 7.x first without losing my TP 5.4.2 before I make a final decision.
I currently have TP 5.x installed in c:\apps\textpad and would like to install 7.x in c:\apps\textpad7. Is this possible? Are there any issues I need to be aware of before doing this? Do I need to do anything particular to ensure that v. 7x will pickup the settings and preferences from the existing v. 5.x?
Thanks,

Many of us would like this, but as far as I know it's not possible unless you set up a virtual machine for each version of TextPad. For your situation, you could install TextPad 7 in a sandbox (e.g. Sandboxie) to evaluate it and be able to restore 5.4.2 if you don't want to keep it.
If you were to install TextPad 7 normally, it would overwrite the current version in C:\apps\textpad. It should retain your existing settings.
