Replace all problem (TEXTPAD 7.2)

Post by gcotterl »

When I enter a phrase in the FIND WHAT box and a different phrase in the REPLACE WITH box then press REPLACE ALL, only ONE occurrence gets changed. The only way to change ALL occurrences is to first do EDIT/SELECT ALL then press REPLACE ALL. What am I doing wrong?

I don't believe you're doing anything wrong. I've noticed it, too. It seems to happen intermittently, and I haven't managed to determine exactly when it happens. Sometimes if you just repeat the replacement without closing the Replace dialogue box it behaves correctly.

No it doesn't; it does an entire find/replace and if the replacement text contains the find text the first hit is replaced again.
