How do I transfer my TextPad license to a new computer?

I removed TextPad 4 from my old computer and installed it on my new computer. When I go to install the license, everything seems to work initially (I get a message that the license was successfully installed), but when I close and re-open TextPad, the license is not installed. The new machine is running Windows 8 whereas the old machine was running Windows 7.

Have you tried TP5, TP6, or TP7?
