Can not access other programs when textpad is open

Post by shafer25 »

Not sure if I am in the right forum to ask this question or not, but here goes...

I have used textpad on windows 7 for the last year and have had no problems. Today, a problem developed whereby if I open a file in textpad, I can not open another program - via either the windows startmenu or the taskbar. The files actually open, as they will appear in the taskbar, but they will not be visible.

If I minimize textpad, I can then access other programs (including windows explorer), but they can not be accessed without first minimizing textpad. I do not have this issue with any other programs - i.e. if I open another program, I do not need to minimize it prior to accessing other programs.

To address this, I reinstalled the latest version of textpad, but the problem persists - does anyone have any insight into this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Deselect
Configure | Preferences | View | Stay on top of other windows
or, equivalently,
<Alt+Space> | Stay on Top

Doh!!!

I came on to ask exactly the same question. Thanks, Ben, for the answer. But that leads to another question. I am a Textpad user for years - at least since version 3. I've never, ever, to my knowledge set that option to "on", so what on earth induced Textpad (5.4.2) to set itself in that way?

All most odd.

Might your thumb have caught the <Alt> key while you were typing <space> T ?
