Paste Text from Web Page without embedded formating

Prior to installing Windows 7 Ultimate if selected a line of text on a web page that was in a table then ctrl+c and then ctrl+v to copy and paste into Textpad, the text would remain on one line. With Windows 7 it is inserted as multiple lines and has to be selected and ctrl/j to join lines - anyone know how I can cut and paste as before Windows 7?
