Typically programs I install I believe default to the Program Files folder. When I go to install Textpad it is defaulting to Program Files (x86) folder instead which I believe is for 32 bit programs. I am running 64 bit Windows 7.
Should Textpad be installed in my 32 bit program folder or my regular Program folder. Or am I wrong about the (x86) folder being for 32 bit programs?

On 64-bit versions of Windows, C:\Program Files is used for 64-bit applications, while C:\Program Files (x86) is used for 32-bit applications like TextPad. Just another of Microsoft's irritating design decisions.suzcomptime wrote: Should Textpad be installed in my 32 bit program folder or my regular Program folder.
