auto-reload makes it impossible to switch files

Hi,

I have a problem with both 'auto-reload' on and off.
The issue is when a file is constantly updated. if the feature is off, than it keeps asking if I want to refresh the file and I can't switch to another tab (file). If the feature is on, the file keeps getting refreshed, and I cannot switch to another tab (file).

Ultimatelly I'd prefer to be able to switch to another file in either of those cases.

Maybe there is a 'pause' option I haven't noticed for when this feature is on. Or maybe when the feature is off, than after clicking 'no', the question shouldn't come up for some number of seconds. (the option for 'Ignore differences in modification times less than 2 seconds' is checked, but either its not honored, or I'm just too slow, maybe an option to extend that to 10 seconds.)
