FireBug and TextPad

Post by MaryE »

I use FireBug and find it extremely useful. I also have FireFox as my defualt browser when using TextPad so whenever I want to view CSS or XHTML code when using FireBug clicking on the links to the various parts of the CSS in the FireBug frame at the bottom of my browser, brings up TextPad.

So rather than trying to add TextPad to FireFox you should be adding FireFox in TextPad. And since FireBug is a FireFox Add-On it too will use TextPad by default because of its association with FireFox.

Thanks for th response.

I too use the TextPad-to-FireBug > View in Browser and find it great. And use FireFox as default to make it easy. And I use the FireBug-to-TextPad > 'Open in Other Editor to get it to open TextPad. But I have not been able to get the FireBug results - like compile errors - go automatically to a TextPad Tools Results window.

Have you? How?

Thanks, Clif

Compile Errors -> Firebug -> TextPad

Post by MaryE »

Sorry ClifE I misunderstood your original question. I had assumed TextPad was not working in FireBug, but as you have explained you have.

However I would have thought it would still allow you to read results of compile errors in TextPad.

Have you tried asking this in the FireBug forum? Someone might come up with a suggestion?

Sorry I can't help you.

Mary
