macro record choice missing from pulldown menu

The "Macros" pulldown menu has a persistent "Stop Recording Ctrl+Shift+R" choice. "Record" choice is missing and all other choices are greyed out. This condition has persisted across an uninstall and re-install. Does anyone know what registry entry or hidden file is causing this problem? Using Windows XP Pro SP3 with TextPad 5.2.0: 32-bit Edition (Licensed)
