Several other postings report that "When File/Open is used, the dialog always opens in the "List" view" and they ask "if there's a way to set the default view to "Details?" TextPad's stock answer is: "No. This is a Windows feature so you need to "Complain to Microsoft".
However, other applications that run in Windows DO let me change the default view to "Details".
Doesn't this mean the "View" feature is application-dependent rather than a Windows feature?
