TextPad x64 bit version

Post by omer »

As Windows shifts to a 64bit environment, it becomes a problem to use textPad to view and edit files in the %windir%\system32 directory.
As a 32bit application, when I try to use TextPad to read or edit files in the above directory on a 64bit windows, I get automatically redirected to %windir%\sysWOW64 directory.

This is a critical issue of me and others at OpTier

Kind regards,
Omer

I would very much like that, too - especially if moving to x64 means Textpad would become able to handle larger files.

Occasionally, I have those 20, 30, 50 GB log file which I need to search through - it's a pain having to download another editor just because Textpad can't handle files larger than available RAM - others can....

A 64-bit edition would be very helpful. Right now, I have to use VEDIT64 for my large file editing, the user interface of which is less than desirable.

It isn't just a faddish thing to have. It would be genuinely useful.
