Sort order for list of tabs

Post by Mike Olds »

Hello,

Is there some mechanism for setting the sort order in the list of tabs (click on cheveron bottom right)?

I have my files set up so (which is what I would like to see in the list)

an03.002
an03.022
an03.034
an03.134

I get

an03.034
an03.134
an03.002
an03.022

Otherwise this is just as difficult as picking the correct file from the tabs when there are numerous files.
Thank you, and
Best Wishes,
Obo

If you are using the latest version of TextPad, you can drag and drop the file tabs into any order that you want. If you always use the same set of files, you could save them as a Workspace and then the tab order would be remembered.

If you are not familiar with Workspaces, then please see the TextPad help files information on how to use them.

I hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your response.

I am using the latest TP and I am speaking about workspaces which I find invaluable ... almost as valuable as the files themselves!

However, what I find is that in the case of draging the tabs, as soon as one opens a file the order changes again anyway, so what is the point? But what I am concerned with is not the order of the tabs, but the list of tabs available from the button on the lower right. I would like to be able to make this sort according to alpha/neumeric order.
Thank you, and
