Is there a way to change the symbols that show for spaces and tabs when there is visible white space. The defaults are too faint and i can hardly see them. For Python were indentation is important it really helps and for text editing. I've been wishing for a long time for this. I need to see this clearly.

Unfortunately, you can't change the symbols. You've asked this
before
. But I agree, the symbols are too small to see clearly on high-resolution monitors.

I asked in 2003...about six years ago. I can hardly see the characters. Most people have hi-res LCDs these days making it an even more vital wish IMO. Please!

Doesn't changing the foreground and background colors for Visible Spaces help?

It helps to distinguish whitespace from non-whitespace characters, but it obviously does nothing to distinguish spaces from tabs.
We would like at the very least for the space and tab characters to be made larger than the current one-pixel dot and five-pixel squiggle. It would be even better if we could choose the characters. They should also scale with the document font; currently the symbols stay the same size even if the font is increased.

Changing color helps slightly but not enough. The symbols are too small. This is a problem for me. Tabs and spaces are content, and I must clearly see content. No editor is perfect. IMO this is Textpad's only weakness.
