Change whitespace characters
Is there a way to change the symbols that show for spaces and tabs when there is visible white space. The defaults are too faint and i can hardly see them. For Python were indentation is important it really helps and for text editing. I've been wishing for a long time for this. I need to see this clearly.

It helps to distinguish whitespace from non-whitespace characters, but it obviously does nothing to distinguish spaces from tabs.helios wrote:Doesn't changing the foreground and background colors for Visible Spaces help?
We would like at the very least for the space and tab characters to be made larger than the current one-pixel dot and five-pixel squiggle. It would be even better if we could choose the characters. They should also scale with the document font; currently the symbols stay the same size even if the font is increased.
