When TextPad 4.6 is installed, it creates a duplicate entry in the Add/Remove programs are of windows settings. This is not uncommon behavior for an installer and there is a very simple and easy fix.
A program names Tweaki from JerMar allows you to delete duplicate entries in add/remove. Use WinTeaks/System/Add Remove Programs editor. Select the old text pad and press delete (not uninstall). It is quick and works. It will not uninstall TextPad 4.6 and can even be undone later if you want the duplicate (although I have not tried that).
The program is $19, but has a free trial available. I prefer to register software I use so more gets developed. I have not tried the unregistered version, but it should work the same. I do not know too much else about Tweaki, and this is actually one of the first things I used it for - but it did seem to work. It is just a suggestion, I am not affiliated with the company, and always be careful when dealing with the Windows registry.
