"find in files" fails to search thru files

Hello,

I have used Textpad for years happily; though of late "Find in files" does not give any results. It just says "cannot find literal string...." I use this feature all the time and it hasn't worked for several months.

I am using windows 2000 with service pack 3.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Textpad (vs. 4.5). My guess is its a windows problem but don't have any idea what to do next.

oops, and red face ...............

I didn't have a wildcard in the filter window. I had .txt instead of *.txt.

But I am happy.
