Unicode Monospaced Fonts

Post by Steve Hodgson »

I've been looking around to try and get hold of a Unicode fixed-width font for day-to-day woking with TextPad.

It soon became obvious that there are not many of them out there.

What I am after is a monospaced (or maybe fixed-width) Unicode font for use primarily with Western European characters. Anyone know of any suitable (free) fonts that might be appropriate? I really want a sans serif font such as Lucida Console or Monospace 821 rather than anything on the lines of the courier family.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi,

I use and can recommend MS Andale Mono. It has been made available for free for a while by Microsoft themselves.

I think you should be able to find it somewhere on the Web (Andale32.exe, 193 kB), otherwise I can send you a copy, or even make it available on my website, since the EULA explicitly allows distribution.
