run commands?

hi, when i open a document using \"rightclick, TextPad\" there isn't any splashscreen at the start. but when i want to run textpad out of another program to load a file (textpad.exe $filename) i always must wait for the startscreen to disappear... this is quite annoying and i'm wondering if there is a command line option to prevent this?
