Error (bug?) when opening big workspaces in V4.5.0

When i open a big workspace in TextPad 4.5.0 (in Windows98SE), i get the error-dialogbox "Unexpected proglem loading workspace archieve. Cannot restore full workspace." unless i start texpad right after i've booted windows.

There's no problem just after i've booted windows, and haven't run too many programs, but i have to reboot windows every time i need to open the workspace.

It's not because i haven't got enough free memory. Right now, when i tried it, i have 219MB free (before loading the workspace - after loading it (<- and only getting some of my files in the workspace loaded) and getting the error: 186MB). (i check the amount of free mem with AnalogX's "MaxMem")

I don't like waiting 2-4 minutes while windows is rebooting, and closing all programs, just to load a workspace :\

Does anyone know how to fix this (or why it happends)?

oops... i made a little typo in the 2nd paragraph...

What i wanted to say:

- It works find *just after* having booted windows
- it doesn't work it windows has been running for some time, and i've been running a few other programs.

I can add a little extra info. there are about 120 files in the workspace that fucks up (yes, i've got many source files ). When i try to load the workspace and i get the error, only some files gets loaded. (it isn't the same files that isn't loaded each time)

Well, since i have enough memory free, it must be a bug in textpad. (or windows )

When the workspace doesn't wanna load, i can manually load the missing files (which is a bitchy job) without getting any error, so the problem must be somewhere in the workspace-code.

Has noone else experienced this? IS THERE A FIX?!?! If not: will someone make one or is this allready on the TextPad-TODO?

I THINK I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!

I've just gotten rid of all the adware/spyware (from programs like kazaa etc) that i had on windows before, and just tried to load the big workspaces i talked about again. It didn't give any problems EVEN after windows had been running for a day, and i had been running many different programs.

...SO IT WOULD SEEM THIS IS NOT A TEXTPAD-BUG!! (I'm glad 2 say )

If you're experiencing this problem, try to remove all ad-/spy-ware you have on your computer - everything will also run much faster. (you can use the program called ad-aware to remove that mutha-phuKkin' zh!+ at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/)

So textpad still r0Xx 100%!

Still, I'm curious why that stuff affects TextPad opening large workspaces. Is the spyware running as a process and so logs or samples the contents of the workspace as it opens?

Thanks for the tip about lavasoftusa - I just got rid of a huge amount of adware.
