Hi All,
What is the syntax highlighting in textpad supposed to do? I'm trying it out editting a file and I don't see anything happening different than a normal edittin gof a file. Is it supposed to recognize the key thing I'm typing in the highlight then on the fly? Do a push a "syntax check" (like spell check) button? I'm a real textpad newbie.
Thanks

Re: Syntax
A warm welcome to you,
Read the Help file topic, "How to Customize Syntax Highlighting." Definitely dowload any needed syntax files from http://www.textpad.com/add-ons
Creating syntax files isn't rocket science, but it ain't for newbies, either.

Syntax and Migration
Hi all,
I really am a big fan of TextPad. I use it for everything I do. I recently upgraded my computer, and would like to bring the settings from the old to the new. Is there an easy way. I tried copying all the files in the folder, but that doesn't seem to help. I would hate to have to do it all from scratch. Thanking you all in advance.

Re: Syntax and Migration
Start Textpad help.
Go to the section How To...
Click on Customize Settings
You will see an entry Transferring between PC's
It explains what you have to do to tranfer all your settings from one pc to another.
