View in Web Browser does nothing!

Post by PM »

Okay, when editing .HTML or .PHP, the "View in Web Browser" option does nothing! I click it and don't even receive an error message. IE is set as my default browser and is associated with both HTML and PHP files. What's going on here?! I'm using textpad version 4.5 on Win2K with IE version 5.5. I also have several other browsers installed for testing purposes, but IE is set to default. Thanks for your help!

I recently went through this for Win98 so I'll try and recall what I did:

1. First you must make sure that "View in Web Browser is checked off for the Document type (e.g.) HTML

2. Then you must make sure that under Configure/Preferences/Document Classes/HTML your file type is incluced in Files in Class (e.g. .htm, .shtml, .html...

3. Then, if there are further complications, check the W2M equivalent of My Computer/Views/Files of Type for that file extension to make sure that Open in I.E. is an event type.

I may have this mixed up with getting TP to do proper syntax heighlighting, but if the above doesn't work, add the File Class to the JAVA Files in Class list.
